Steve Jobs avled på onsdagen. Uppgiften har verifierats av Apple.
Jobs blev 56 år gammal. Apple-grundaren har varit sjuk i flera år och lämnade i augusti vd-posten på Apple då Tim Cook efterträdde Steve Jobs.
Apples webbsida pryds just nu av en bild på Steve Jobs och texten:
"Apple has lost a visionary and creative genius, and the world has lost an amazing human being. Those of us who have been fortunate enough to know and work with Steve have lost a dear friend and an inspiring mentor. Steve leaves behind a company that only he could have built, and his spirit will forever be the foundation of Apple."
Trots att Jobs sjukdom var erkänt allvarlig och känd sedan länge spekulerades det så sent som på tisdagen, vid Apples senaste produktlansering, om huruvida han skulle komma att framträda.
